The Web of Life

Wilson our weenie dog initiated the apology/conversation after he snapped at Leigh as she was trying to pet him. Josh says the dog needs to be put on a leash.

Wilson is picky about who gets to pet him. It's always best to let him decide when the time is right for you to pet him.

We meet standing around our vehicles. Visiting with each other as strangers. The group is a diverse one with each couple at a different phase within their respective life cycle.

We are waiting on our shuttle up to Norman, Arkansas to float back down the Caddo River to Camp Arrowhead. The shuttle van has sat idle for several long minutes. We wait impatiently!

The driver finally shows up and we pile in the banged up old van. We ramble along the highway to our put in spot hoping the van stays together long enough to get us there.

We make it to the river!! Yea!!!!

We unload the kayaks and canoes and drag them to the waters edge. Then load our gear we are willing to loose to the river gods. Only take what you are willing to loose to the river because you never know when you are going to tump over your boat and loose it all.

We launch and then feel out the boats. Trying to figure out how to stear the contraption and not turn it over. Well at least some in the group do that pratice thing.

Swimming in the cool water, doing silly things over the side of the canoe(Leigh) and lots of laughs make up the remainder of our trip. The river flows freely as well as the beer and tall tales as we float down the river.

River friendships are spun in the web of life over a great evening dinner at the Fish Net in Glenwood.

Thanks for the good time!! Mona, Chris, Josh, Leigh, Addie
