Hide the watermelon, son. Damn moscas!

Say, you either didn't see my recent tale abt talking to a bird, or you never commented on the story. At least get Susan to go read it (the one called Hello, Bird).

I watched a second time with David (13) at my side. His eyes instantly grew big, and he sat speechless until the film stopped. Then he stood up and walked off going, "THAT was disturbing." So I why.

"I always thought they were shy and peaceful."

I called mom about the bird. She said she didn't recall the story, but that was a very busy time in her life and if you'd have had a zebra in the back yard she would have probably not noticed. :^) She said to call Susan so I did and got no answer. I emailed her the link to the story and have yet to hear back from her. Sorry for no comment...just that I didn't remember the story.

Where da hell was I at during that time???

Why was David disturbed?

The birds are very aggressive(protective) of the feeder and will fend off most of the other birds that come to drink.

Just looking at a still picture I can see where one would think them shy and peaceful. The video tells of their true nature.

No doubt about your mom (I sorta do remember a zebra clommping around back there).

I figured the bird might not ring any bells with you either, what with all the times you spent hiding in your room, practicing on that trumpet. But both Susan and Nancy hopefully should remember. Or maybe I found some really wild weed out in the woods instead, and then pipe-dreamed the entire tale.

David was just being David, and flippant as usual. Today he considers himself a bonafide expert on hummingbird behavior, however. Now if I can only convince him to stop bringing jar-fulls of those adjectival black crickets inside the cave before (accidently) setting them free...how you say black cricket in Spanish?

Hummingbirds are magical creatures. Apart from anything else, they're the only birds that can fly backwards. Thanks for showing a fascinating video.
